Magicians are completely insane

OK, it’s official, magicians are insane. I checked out a coin trick that I thought would be nice to learn, and discovered that, at a few hours a day, it would probably take me somewhere between 3 and 6 months to get it to a workable place. Then that much again to polish the movements so they become smooth and natural. The trick itself, though, takes a total of 3 seconds to perform.

What kind of sick, twisted mind would consider that a reasonable trade of time invested vs. result achieved? If you’re comfortable with computers and logical thinking, in a year you can go from knowing nothing about programming to at least an intern-level programmer. OR YOU COULD MAKE A COIN APPEAR IN YOUR HAND, YOU DERANGED LUNATIC.
